Qualifications:
- Completed Training Program for Korean Language Teachers at Seoul National University (2016), in South Korea
- Completed Master of Education (TESOL) in 2015, at University of Sydney.
- Completed Bachelor of Entertainment Management in 2011, at Australian Institute of Music
- Attained CELTA and TESOL certifications in 2012
Experiences:
- Worked full-time as a native English as a Second language teacher (ESL) towards primary to high school students in South Korea from 2013 to 2015. Some of the important duties performed includes: creating and implementing lesson plans; preparing, and delivering instructional activities and managing student behaviour in the classroom by following approved disciplinary procedures.
- Working casual as a Korean tutor for private tutorials towards high school students to adults, which has been around 5 years including the tutorials in Korea and in Australia. Private tuitions significantly require lesson planning and preparation in accordance to learners’ goals; interests and needs.
Teacher: Sujin Seo
I have a Bachelor in Korean language from Ewha Womans University (top Womans university in Korea), a Master in Creative writing from Myongji University, and a professional teaching license from the National Institute of Korean Language.
I have experience in teaching Korean as a foreign language for 3 years at the University of Seoul and Sungkyunkwan University (top tier university) in Seoul and for 2 years in Melbourne. In 2018, I have presented a thesis to the Australian Association of Teachers of Korean at the University of Sydney.
I also taught Korean language courses at Sydney Community College, Parramatta Community College, Samsung, and Pfizer in Sydney.
I am a published writer, some of my books include ‘Korea teachers’ which was translated into English, ‘Yujin and Dave’, and also short stories ‘Gold rush’. I have received Korean literature awards for these novels and short stories. (the 25th Hankyoreh Literature Prize, the 13th Munhakdongne Young Writer’s Award)
Teacher: Ashley Jang
Ashley is a highly qualified teacher who possesses a secondary teacher (Commerce and English)’s license issued from Department of Education, Korea. Prior to moving to Australia, she worked as a tutor and an educational content developer at Hankook University of Foreign Studies (Oedae Language Centre) and YBM Education Korea. Moreover, she has worked as an associate instructor in business English and an educational consultant in Seoul for several years. She taught language and business studies to employees working in bank, tele-communication companies, accounting firms and stock companies including PwC, POSCO, Hana Bank, Hyundai-Kia motors and SK Tele-communications.
She is continuing her careers in an educational sector in Australia. She worked as a school counsellor/ welfare coordinator at Evolution Hospitality Institute for 2years and she is currently working as a Korean language teacher and a corporate trainer in Sydney.
Ashley facilitates our Korean learners with her enthusiasm, confidence and excellence in teaching which come from her extensive teaching experiences. She adapts various teaching materials which are blended with cultural aspects such as K-pop, K-drama and YouTube. She then combines them with her own teaching skills and materials. She truly loves to teach her Korean classes and has passionate, professional and friendly manners to lead enjoyable and worthwhile classes. Her classes are always filled with happiness, excitement and satisfaction.
