Meet CantoneseTeacher of SLS

Annie Zhang

Annie Zhang is a native speaker of Mandarin and Cantonese. She can teach Mandarin and Cantonese of all levels. She is capable to read and write both simplified and traditional Chinese.

Annie Zhang has been teaching Cantonese from beginners to advanced level in Sydney approximately 2 years.

She also has more than 4 years experience of tutoring high school students, junior high school students and elementary school students in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Lucy Luo

Qualifications:

Lucy has completed her Bachelor of Interpreting and Translation at the University of Western Sydney and is now an accredited NAATI translator. She has also studied Japanese Beginners and Chinese background speakers Course in High School and achieved great results in the HSC exam.

Experience:

Lucy has more than 3 years teaching experience in working as a private tutor for children and adults from different cultural backgrounds. She had experience tutoring Cantonese and Mandarin to people from beginners to advanced level. She has a good understanding of the culture of the Cantonese and Mandarin speaking regions and gives Chinese learning lessons in a way that makes the learning process interesting.

Cantonese for Beginners - Intensive Course

Cantonese for Beginners/Travellers

Who should join this course?

This ten-week course is specially designed program for those with no prior knowledge of Cantonese. Travelers who will be in China/Hong Kong in couple of months can attend this course. This is a short and intensive course which can provide you not only the languages skills, but some general cultural knowledge. You will learn how to communicate in day to day situations such as small talk, ordering food in a restaurant, shopping and taking public transport. These lessons will help you to accommodate better in China/Hong Kong and enjoy your Cantonese adventure journey.

Who should join this class?

Learners who have finished 20 hours of Cantonese Beginner 1.

Learners should have the ability to understand simple sentences and make simple conversations

Learners can ask and answer about name, nationality, time, simple direction and days during a week. They can also say sorry, thank you, greeting and good bye.

Learners want to learn more verbs, noun, vocabulary and improve in sentence structure and fluency.

Who should join this course?

* The class is speciallly designed for Mandarin Speakers who wants to learn Cantonese.

* Every student in this class is a fluent speaker of Mandarin.

* You will use Mandarin to learn Cantonese and improve Cantonese in our class.

* This class is NOT the same as the Cantonese for Beginner (in which most students are not Mandarin speaker and they learn slower), it is for students who are fluent Mandarin speakers (as you learn faster given the fact that you are fluent in Mandarin)

What will be taught?

1. You will learn to have conversations in Cantonese, using Hong Kong films and drama videos/CDs.

2. The diffirent situations on the videos will stimulate you to converse in Cantonese.

3. The teacher will teach you all grammatical and structural points to build up sentences to speak in Cantonese.Medium of instructions will be in Mandarin and occasionally English. The class aims to make you fluent in Cantonese.

** We need at least 4 students to open any class, so please enrol and pay as soon as possible if you are keen to join.
