Course description

SLS offers quality training for the IELTS exam with tailored IELTS Preparation Courses. The Band 6-7 Preparation Course offers training for both General and Academic tests for those who need to achieve a Band 6 – 7. You can choose to attend for all Writing, Reading, Listening, and Speaking modules or a mixture of modules. Classes are offered on weeknights at our convenient Sydney CBD location. Enjoy our small class sizes with free training materials from our experienced, qualified trainers for enjoyable and effective learning.

Who is this course for?

SLS provides IELTS Preparation Course to help students develop their language skills to prepare for their IELTS Test.
These courses are suitable for students who have already booked the test or are going to take the test soon.
These courses will provide you some useful tips and strategies to achieve higher IELTS scores and help you to correct your common mistakes in an IELTS Test (Both General Training and Academic Tests).
You need to spend time doing your homework and write essays as a compulsory component of the IELTS Preparation Course to help improve your skill(s).

Entry Requirement :

We recommend you should only join this course if your current IELTS Score in at least 5.5 for 3 skills in their last IELTS Test. This course is also suitable for students who have already booked the test or are going to take the test soon.

Face-to-face class update:

Our face-to-face class is back from Monday 18 October 2021. All courses will be delivered in line with NSW Government advice and Department of Health requirements. Please kindly check the requirement for face-to-face lessons here.

We still operate a parallel class for many languages with ONLINE Teaching mode. So if you prefer to study online, please email us and we will enroll you into classes with online options.

1. What is the purpose of the program?

The program is designed to help students develop their language skills to prepare for their IELTS Test. This workshop will provide students useful tips to achieve higher IELTS Writing score and correct student common mistakes in an IELTS Writing test.

2. What is the English level required for the students of the program?

We recommend you should only join this workshop if your current IELTS Score in Writing is at least 7 marks.

3. Who is suitable to enroll the program?

For those who have achieved 7 in IELTS Writing, this will be an especially suitable program for you.

This workshop is also suitable for students who have already booked the test or are going to take the test soon

4. What is the content of the program?

The program is a very student-oriented and flexible program. Besides the essential strategies for the IELTS Writing test, students are also provided the time management skill, how to organize yourself and what should be focus on. Moreover, there is feedback on corrections, look over mistake to improve and go over sections that students have most difficult with.

5. Can we show grammatical errors in our own homework for teachers to mark?

Yes, our teachers can definitely help to explain your individual errors to help improve your writing. Especially in the IELTS Preparation 6-week course, teachers will also give you extra homework to fix your own errors too.

Classes are finalized and confirmed 4 working days before the starting date.

Napak-on Sritrakarn (aka: Yupaporn Piriyasilpa) has taught English in Thailand for more than 26 years. She received her PhD in Linguistics from Macquarie University, Australia. The areas of her teaching interests include English essay writing, report writing, English reading for academic purposes, and English conversation for daily life. Her research interests cover English Language Teaching (ELT), academic literacy, and Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL), especially discourse analysis and genre studies."

Teacher: Suri

Suri is a passionate and experienced teacher with a background in teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL). She has worked with students of all ages and proficiency levels, creating engaging and dynamic learning environments. Suri holds a Bachelor of Education in English, graduating as the top student from the University of Bengkulu, Indonesia. In 2020, she was selected as the Indonesian Language Ambassador, recognizing her dedication to language and cultural promotion. During her undergraduate studies, she taught Indonesian and English, including at the medical faculty of a university in Indonesia. Currently, she is pursuing a Master of Applied Linguistics at the University of New South Wales, funded by an Indonesian Government Scholarship. Her professional experience includes roles as an IELTS and TOEFL tutor, scholarship mentor, and event planner. Suri has taught at institutions such as University of Bengkulu, English First Kids and Teens, Studyfirst.id, and APRA College, delivering courses tailored to meet the needs of her students and fostering their language acquisition.
