The Scalabrini Village was formed in 1969 by the Scalabrinian Fathers, an Italian missionary order, and a group of businessmen from the Italian community. Each 2-hour language lesson at our school will cover:
- Reviewing vocabulary + structure of previous lessons + clarifying any questions from students (10 minutes)
- Focus Grammar Point of new lesson (15 minutes)
- Reading a text or a dialogue + Pronunciation (25 minutes)
- Vocabulary (10 minutes)
- Building sentences for new Focus Grammar Point (20 minutes)
- Speaking (30 minutes)
- Writing (students are advised to practise as much writing as possible at home) (10 minutes)
At the end of each lesson students have some homework to do in their own time, which covers:
- Vocabulary
- Sentence making
Each student is then questioned on these tasks at the beginning of the following lesson.
The amount of time spent on each of these skills will depend upon each student’s individual level of development.
Each class always has 3-5 students, so each student is given one-on-one attention from trained, native-speaking teachers for the conversational portion of each lesson.
