Course description

SLS offers a 16-hour Russian Beginner 2 Course for students who have completed Beginner 1. Available at our convenient Sydney CBD location during weeknights or weekends, our course is ideal for those who work during the week. All language courses come with free training materials and you’ll enjoy our small class sizes for a great interactive learning experience. Upon completion, you’ll also receive a Certificate of Participation.

Who should take this class?

For Russian Beginner Students who have finished 20 hours of Russian Beginner 1, or those who have some basic pre-existing knowledge of Russian.

Learners should be able to understand simple sentences and make simple conversations such as: ask and answer about name, nationality, time, simple directions and days during the week. They can also say sorry, thank you, greeting and good bye.

In this course, students will learn more verbs, nouns, and new authentic vocabulary and enhance their knowledge of grammar and pronunciation.

Week 2 Transport – Getting around Russia

Week 3 Travelling in Russia

Week 4 Leisure time – Sport

Week 5 Eating out Russian food

Week 6 At the department store – Shopping in Moscow

Week 7 Cultural life in Russia

Week 8 Visiting Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow

What’s special about this course?

• Learners undertaking this course will be provided with teaching materials (handouts)
• Students will be provided with authentic audio-visual materials based on Russian films, cartoons and literature such as authentic Russian fairy tales.

Expected Outcomes:

• • By the end of this course students will expand and enhance their vocabulary, learn more verbs and basic grammar structures, and apply this knowledge in simple conversations.

• • By the end of the course students will get deeper understanding about Russian realia, culture and traditions.

• If your course does not have enough students, it will be cancelled and you will be informed via SMS or email two days before the starting date. Alternatively, we may re-schedule the course to get more enrollment or still offer the course for 4 students with a slightly higher tuition fee with your agreement.
