Course description

SLS offers a 16-hour French Beginner 1 Course for those who wish to learn basic conversational French for the first time. Available at our convenient Sydney CBD location during weeknights or weekends, our course is ideal for those who work full time.

All language courses come with free training materials and you’ll enjoy our small class sizes for a great interactive learning experience. Upon completion, you’ll also receive a Certificate of Participation.

Who should join this course?

• This is an initial French language course for eight weeks.
• It starts with the basic alphabet pronunciation and then students are introduced to more grammar and vocabulary.
• Regular revision of the topics will be covered during the following weeks.
• In this course, some quizzes will also make learning the French language an interesting activity.

Weekly Content:

• Week 1:     Alphabet Introduction, word format and days of the week
• Week  2:    Greetings – saying hello/goodbye and asking questions
• Week 3:     Colours, months of the year, introduction to numbers
• Week 4:     How to ask and tell the time – Numbers (fractions, decimals)
• Week 5:     Countries and continents, simple conversation in French
• Week 6:     Vocabulary of products, simple conversations in French
• Week 7:     Transports
• Week 8:     Conversational French – dialogues in everyday life

Expected Outcome:

At the end of the course, the students will be able to know basic French.

They will be able to say the following information in French:

• Greetings
• Telling numbers, time, days of week,
• Nationality,
• Telephone number.
• The students will also be able to:
• Order food at restaurants and ask for locations,
• Undertake simple conversations that will help them in everyday life and situations.

Please Note:

• The enrolment fee must be paid at least one week in advance of the course commencement date.
• All classes need a minimum of 5 students to go ahead.
• If your course does not have enough students, it will be cancelled and you will be informed via SMS or email two days before the starting date. Alternatively, we may re-schedule the course to get more enrolment or still offer the course for 4 students with a slightly higher tuition fee with your agreement.
• If the course is cancelled due to low Enrolment, you will receive a full refund and also 10% off next time when you enroll again into the same course.
