Course description
SLS offers a 16-hour Dutch Beginner 2 Course – ONLINE mode for students who have completed Beginner 1. Available at our convenient Sydney CBD location during weeknights or weekends, our course is ideal for those who work full-time.
All language courses come with free training materials and you’ll enjoy our small class sizes for a great interactive learning experience. Upon completion, you’ll also receive a Certificate of Participation.
Who should take this class?
Dutch Beginner Students who have finished 20 hours of Dutch Beginner 1.
Learners understand the Dutch alphabet and can write very simple Dutch sentences.
The learners should have the ability to understand simple sentences and make simple conversations. The learners can ask and answer about names, nationalities, times, simple directions, and days during the week. They can also say sorry, thank you, greeting, and goodbye.
Learners want to learn more verbs, nouns, and vocabulary and improve sentence structure and fluency.
Program
Week 1 The calendar: days of the week, the months, seasons, and the weather
Week 2 Simple past: regular and irregular verbs
Week 3 Present Perfect: regular and irregular verbs
Week 4 Making it smaller: adding -je
Week 5 Office party: organizing a party and reflexive verbs and the verb to let
Week 6 Dinner time: foods, restaurants, and how to order a meal
Week 7 The word Er: how to use the referring word er
Week 8 Conjunctions: regular conjunctions and subordinating conjunctions
Expected Outcomes:
By the end of this course, students will be able to expand their vocabulary, to learn more verbs, and basic sentences structure
At the end of the course, the student will be able to say the following information in Dutch:
- Able to make advanced Dutch sentences in the present and past tense
- Able to reply to Dutch questions
- Able to read basic texts
- Able to make basic conversations
- Able to order in a restaurant
- Able to compare things
- Able to use referring and diminutive words
- Able to explain problems, and feelings, and show preferences

- The enrolment fee must be paid at least one week in advance of the course commencement date.
- All classes need a minimum of 5 students to go ahead.
- If your course does not have enough students, it will be canceled and you will be informed via SMS or email two days before the starting date. Alternatively, we may re-schedule the course to get more enrolment or still offer the course for 4 students with a slightly higher tuition fee with your agreement.
