Course description

SLS offers a 16-hour Croatian Beginner 2 Course for students who have completed Beginner 1 course. Available at our convenient Sydney CBD location during weeknights or weekends, our course is ideal for those who work full time.

All language courses come with free training materials and you’ll enjoy our small class sizes for a great interactive learning experience. Upon completion, you’ll also receive a Certificate of Participation.

Who should take this class?

This course helps you to develop your fluency and conversation skills in a range of contexts, and build your vocabulary to levels which will allow you greater experience and appreciation of the culture and its people. This course assumes previous language study in Croatian (through completing Beginner 1 Level).

In each session there will be great emphasis given to pronunciation (in groups and pairs), which will enhance one’s fluency for communicating in Croatian .

Additional resources may be used (eg. teacher’s own music, video etc.) where available and where suitable for the needs of the class.

Objectives

The intended Learning Outcomes for this course are as follows.

By the end of this course the students will be able to:

• Build up/extend grammar knowledge (e.g. future/conditional)
• Past tenses – (at least 3 different types)
• Future Tenses – (3 different types)
• Introduction to the Subjunctive mode
• Speak more confidently with correct pronunciation and extended vocabulary
• Topic based conversations/discussions in combination with present, past and future tenses
• Read to gain understanding and information
• Use conversational skills to solve problems, ask questions, to participate in exchange of viewsaccording to the German etiquette
• Appreciate the Croatian culture, geography and customs

  PLEASE NOTE:

• The enrolment fee must be paid at least one week in advance of the course commencement date.
• All classes need a minimum of 5 students to go ahead.
• If your course does not have enough students, it will be cancelled and you will be informed via SMS or email two days before the starting date. Alternatively, we may re-schedule the course to get more enrolment or still offer the course for 4 students with a slightly higher tuition fee with your agreement.
• From 1 Jan 2022, given the widespread of Omicron and how it affects our students, we have to apply this policy and you are deemed to agree to this when enrolling into our courses:
• – If you have enrolled and paid into your courses, and the courses have been confirmed to start, we cannot accept for any refund request or cancel the enrolment in case you are diagnosed with COVID or cant travel for fear of COVID.  We can agree for you to postpone the courses to the next available course within 6 months only.
• – If the course has been confirmed by email to start, we can’t refund.
• – If the course has not been confirmed and you request to cancel enrolment at least 7 working days before course starting day, you are entitled to a refund with a deduction of $60 admin fee, as per our Terms and Conditions.
